Power Categories Primary - Unlimited. No gliders this year.

Registration Fees

Registration fees will be collected at check in.  The Registration fee is $350.

Registration fee includes T shirt, breakfast & lunches, one awards banquet ticket.

IAC 38 is sponsoring a special discount of only $50 for first time competitors (Primary or Sportsman) However this entry fee does not include the awards banquet ticket.

Awards Banquet Gala

Additional tickets are $35. We have a vary limited number of tickets. if you are wanting more than one, it is worth reaching out to a CD well in advance to get you on the list.  New location for this year. TBD


Hangars

There are few hangars available for overnight parking. Please contact CD to arrange. There are no guarantees hangar space will be available.


Tiedowns frequently have improper length tie down chains. bring tie down straps. winds at TCY can be significant.


Hotels

Official Contest Hotel has not been announced

Transportation

We never have a shortage of pars at this contest. Finding a ride is often easy. There are often extra cars available. Uber and Lyft serve the Tracy Area.

Wednesday, May 13, 2026

 

  •  A practice day on Wednesday May 13th is offered for IAC 38 members & other pilots  who volunteer before & during the contest in additional roles.  
  • Practice flights throughout the day.
  • Early Registration & Tech Inspection 12:00-Approx 6:00PM
  • Free Pizza dinner for people who volunteer to help set up.

Thursday, May 14, 2026

10:00AM - Registration Opens

10:00 AM - Practice Slots Open (Must have completed registration & Tech inspection to claim a practice slot.)

7:00 PM Registration Closes (Late arrivals must contact CD prior to 7PM)

ALL DAY - Aircraft Arrivals & Practice Flights


Pilots who stay after 7pm to help set up clipboards are provided free  beverages & dinner. Many hands make light work!

What to Know & What to Bring to the Nor Cal Classic

Prior to the Contest

 

  • Check parachute will be current
  • Check Insurance paperwork to ensure aircraft has up-to-date insurance coverage (minimum of $1M liability)
  • Check Aircraft will be in annual.
  • Check that your Medical will be current.
  • Verify that aircraft a has functioning radio. (transmit and receive)
  • Check that your Free forms (A, B, C) are approved and signed. (This is for Intermediate, Advanced, and Unlimited. Also applies to Sportsman if you have your own Free program.)
  • Make hotel reservations. (See above for hotel info.)
  • Register for contest. This helps us know whos coming ahead of time. if you cant make it, then at least we were prepared for you. See the registration link above.)
  • Call or email the Contest Director for any special instructions, questions or requests.

Take to the contest

 

  • Proof of insurance. (binder letter or copy of declarations page is acceptable)
  • Pilot's certificate. (license)
  • Driver's license.
  • Current medical certificate.
    • Pilots flying under Basic Med: Course completion certificate and the completed Comprehensive Medical Examination Checklist, or copies thereof
  • Current IAC member card, or printed proof of membership.
  • Checkbook, Cash, Credit Card or PayPal (registration fees)
  • Copies of your Freestyle (we recommend 10 copies of Form A, and 16 copies each of Forms B&C) (SPORTSMAN 16 A Forms & 32 B & C Forms)
  • Check Aircraft for AROW documents:
    • Airworthiness Certificate
    • Registration Certificate
    • Operating limitations
    • Weight and Balance documents for your particular aircraft. Items like an incorrect W&B showing wheel pants installed and if the aircraft does not have wheel pants, it is not airworthy and cannot fly. (Generic weight and balance documents are not sufficient.
    • Program Letter (if applicable, Experimental Aircraft)
  • Aircraft logbook, or copy, showing that the aircraft has a current inspection.  (annual or condition inspection)
  • Parachute, with a record of current inspection status. (120 Days)
  • Tie down straps, chocks, canopy covers. (Parking spaces have limited tie down chains. Tracy is very windy in the evenings)


Documents

Airworthiness, Registration, Copy of Annual / Condition Inspection, Copy of parachute inspection, IAC card or proof of membership, Pilots License, Medical Certificate, Free Forms, Copy of Liability Insurance (1M), and if you are flying an aircraft not owned by you, bring a signed "IAC Official Contest Entry Form" (available here: https://www.iac.org/contest-director-packet )

Free Forms

If you have a free style, then you must bring the following:

Sportsman: 16 A Forms, 32 B Forms, 32 C Forms

Intermediate-Unlimited:  10 A Forms, 16 B Forms, 16 C Forms

Tech Inspection

 Have available for inspection all certificates required for operation of any aircraft (airworthiness, registration, operating limitation, weight and balance) plus aircraft and engine log books, certificates of insurance with a minimum of $1,000,000 property damage and $100,000 single limit bodily injury. The parachute repack certification will also be checked. The Tech inspector will use a checklist of items to approve the aircraft for flight at the contest. A list of these items may be found in the IAC Rule Book Chapter 2.3 

FAA

We have requested that the FAA from the Oakland FSDO visit our contest. They have accepted and will be at the airport for the duration of the contest. It is very likely you will get a "ramp Inspection" upon arrival. Be prepared. (Make sure you have a compass correction card!)
