The second IAC 38 lifetime achievement award was presented to Thomas Myers for his devotion, and tireless efforts to IAC 38. For his devotion to safety and education and detail in keeping the ship not just afloat, but steering the right direction.

IAC 38 Lifetime Achievement Award
The IAC 38 Sportsman belt, was a long standing tradition in competitive aerobatics going back near 50 years. Until many years ago, Dennis Ernst of IAC38 continued this tradition, and in his passing, IAC 38 has continued this tradition of presenting the IAC38 Sportsman Belt. This hand tooled leather belt is awarded to the lowest scoring sportsman pilot who received no zero's on any figure, It is meant to inspire and reward the pilot to continue working hard towards future success in aerobatics. This years IAC38 Sportsman Belt is awarded to Ted Hong.

Achievement Through Adversity
The IAC 38 Achievement through Adversity Award was inspired at the Coalinga Western Showdown in 2016 and has become the Special Award presented by IAC 38. The Achievement through Adversity Award is presented to the competitor that suffered mechanical issues, distractions, unfortunate luck or other obstruction during the course of the contest.
This years Achievement Through Adversity is presented to Abdulah Alqulblan.

The first ever IAC 38 lifetime achievment award was presented to Dave Watson for his exceptional leadership and enduring contributions to the IAC Northern California Chapter 38 and the field of aerobatics. For his vision in the establishment of the Tracy Contest, collaboration with the City of Tracy and for his dedication to the mentorship of pilots and judges.

- A practice day on Wednesday May 28th is offered for IAC 38 members & other pilots who volunteer before & during the contest in additional roles.
- Practice flights throughout the day.
- Early Registration & Tech Inspection 12:00-Approx 6:00PM
- Possible Social Hour @ Holiday Inn Pool
Thursday May 29, 2025
- Registration & Tech Inspection & Practice
- Registration opens from 9:00-5:00PM.
Late arrivals should coordinate with the CD or Registrar.
- Practice flights from 10;00am until sunset. Pilots can only claim a practice slot AFTER they have completed registration.
- Pilots & other volunteers are encouraged to hang around and help with setting up clipboards Many hands make light work, and well feed you pizza and beverages.

- 6:45 Coffee and light breakfast snacks provided to pilots & volunteers.
- 7:00 Mandatory pilot briefing. Pilots how are not present at roll call are fined $50 if the are late to the briefing. Pilot are disqualified if they miss the safety briefing.

Generally runway 30 is standard, w/ left traffic. 26 is also available. landing to the east / southeast is not very common.
Visiting Family & Friends
Visiting family & friends can visit the ramp area side of the fence but only if escorted by a competitor. Family & friends can observe from the designated Family & Friends tent area east of the ramp near the starters tent. Please no unnecessary persons on the ramp. No cars or personal vehicles are permitted on the ramp.
Hangars
There is little no no extra hangar space at Tracy. You can contact the airport manager to see about renting any vacant hangars. We get limited hangar space from our hosts, SkyView Aviation, but we cannot guarantee space. See the CD on Thursday.
Awards banquet Gala
Our awards banquet gala is black tie, or cut off jean short event. This year we have invited back Byrons Texas BBQ, and have a special guest speaker, Sean D Tucker. Limited tickets are available, see the Registrar on Thursday to purchase extra tickets. Extra tickets are available only on first come basis.
The event is located at the Patriots Jet Team Hangar at 760 Osprey Ct Byron, CA (Byron Airport)
Doors open at 5:00PM
